The Beatles History


If you are making a Beatles pilgrimage to this great city, check out The Beatles Story museum on the Liverpool Waterfront Albert Dock.The museum has several fascinating exhibits about the behind the scenes story of the Fab Four, including 38 amazing photos taken by Paul Berriff during the 1963/64 Beatlemania period. Liverpool also offers the Magical Mystery Tour, which is a two hour bus tour through all of the important Beatles landmarks in Liverpool including Ringo Starr and John Lennon’s childhood homes, The Liverpool Institute where the lads went to school and St. Peter’s Church Hall where John and Paul first met. The tour ends at the famous Cavern Club and includes admission to an evening show.

The Live Music and Nightlife

As well as being the place of origin of the the fab four, Liverpool also boasts an incredible live music scene. A night out in Liverpool will have you rocking until the small hours of the morning at clubs such as Playground, Kingdom-Liverpool and Mansion. For great gigs by live bands you can check out the East Village Arts Club, The Caledonia, The Shipping Forecast and the Dovedale Towers.

The Liverpool Docks

Bakchich serves Lebanese street food such as shawarma wraps, meze and falafel at very affordable prices. Host is another local favourite, serving up top notch Asian food that delights with it’s fresh and vibrant flavours. The menu is a creative mix of fusion flavours from seared sea bass with asparagus spears to deep fried ham hock. The Tavern is another great place to check out, offering superb modern Mexican food and a fantastic cocktail menu.

The Beaches - Yep… the beaches??

Did you know that Liverpool and it’s surrounding area has some gorgeous beaches where you can take a stroll in the sand and watch the sunset? Check out Formby Beach, a huge expanse of sand dunes lined by pine woods. Crosby Beach is also beautiful and features an artwork by Antony Gormley - 100 lifesize human figures made of cast iron standing and staring out at the sea.
